About the Role
As an Insurance Benefit Coordinator, you will be responsible for identifying potentially eligible uninsured or underinsured patients, ensuring timely submission of applications, tracking enrollment progress, and providing education to health center staff. You will also handle patient inquiries, monitor application statuses, and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
About You
Required:
- Associate’s degree in business, health care, or a related field; Bachelor's preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting; insurance coverage verification and/or billing preferred.
- Certified Application Counselor (CAC) designation; certification must be obtained within six months of job acceptance.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines and government programs (i.e., Medicaid).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
