Summary
Ice Miller LLP is seeking an Intellectual Property Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their IP prosecution practice in Chicago, IL. This leadership role is crucial for driving the strategic business goals of the Intellectual Property group.
About the Role
As an Intellectual Property Operations Manager, you will partner with IP practice leadership and attorneys to define and execute operational strategies, develop multi-year roadmaps, and ensure operational readiness across the IP practice. You will standardize procedures, improve workflows, oversee technology implementations, and lead talent development initiatives. Additionally, you will manage vendor relationships and assist in financial management, ensuring alignment with practice goals.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in complex IP administrative duties related to filings, workflow, docketing, etc.
- Superior understanding of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PTO systems, including EFS, EPAS, PAIR, TEAS, and TESS.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm or other professional services firm.
- Demonstrated experience in building and scaling operational systems for patent and trademark prosecution teams.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
