The Hartford is seeking an Intern, Middle & Large Business Underwriting - National Accounts to join their team in Hartford, CT. The role is designed to prepare college students for a career in underwriting through a structured internship program.
About the Role
As an intern in the Middle Market Underwriting program, you will complete daily assignments, participate in team activities, and utilize analytical skills to quantify risk for middle and large commercial businesses. You will also attend weekly business meetings and personal development workshops, and have the opportunity to secure full-time employment upon successful completion of the internship.
About You
Required:
- Students expecting to graduate in December 2026 / May 2027 with a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or Liberal Arts with minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze and reason through complex problems and make sound recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Record of high achievement, analytical thinking, self-motivation, relationship building, and a solid work ethic.
- High energy self-starter with good decision-making skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
