Summary
Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS) is seeking an Iron and Steel Technology Advisor to support the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Industrial Technologies Office (ITO) in Washington, DC. The role involves providing strategic vision and support for innovation in the Iron and Steel Industry.
About the Role
As an Iron and Steel Technology Advisor, you will interact closely with ITO staff and National Laboratory scientists on research, development, and deployment (RD&D) projects that enhance cost- and energy savings in the Iron and Steel Industry. Your responsibilities will include providing subject matter expertise, contributing to strategic planning, managing RD&D programs, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting communication efforts with senior federal staff and industry partners.
About You
Required:
- Master’s degree in metallurgical science and engineering, materials science, chemical engineering, or other relevant degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Iron and Steel industry, including understanding of plant operations and process technologies.
Preferred:
- Located in the Washington DC area with a hybrid work arrangement.
- Ph.D. in metallurgical science and engineering, materials science, chemical engineering, or other relevant degree.
- 10+ years of experience in industry or related experience.
- Membership in pertinent associations (AISI, AIST, etc.).
- Strong project management skills.
