About the Role
As a Journeyman Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC and manual machines, reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, measuring and inspecting parts for accuracy, ensuring safe operation of machinery, maintaining machines, and collaborating with engineers and supervisors to meet project requirements. You will work in a small shop environment with a variety of tasks and minimal repetitive processes.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Machinist in a job shop or similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, including CNC programming and setup.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred:
- Technical degree or certification in machining.
- Familiarity with metalworking and machining materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment.
