About the Role
As a Journeyman Network Plant Technician (Fiber Tester), you will be responsible for validating the performance and reliability of high-speed communications networks. Your daily tasks will include performing hands-on testing using OTDR and other diagnostic tools, ensuring all fiber installations meet technical standards, and generating reports for project management. You will work under the supervision of senior staff and assist with splicing and terminating fiber and copper cables.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or Associate Degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Network Plant Technician supporting fiber installations.
Preferred:
- BICSI certification.
- Advanced certification on the testing equipment used to test the fiber.
- Experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization projects.
