ASEC is seeking a Junior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join their team at NAWS China Lake in Ridgecrest, CA. The role involves supporting cybersecurity efforts to protect critical DoD information systems.

About the Role

As a Junior Information System Security Officer (ISSO), you will be responsible for vulnerability management, RMF compliance, and continuous monitoring. Your key responsibilities include implementing cybersecurity policies, performing vulnerability assessments, applying DISA STIG configurations, assisting in continuous monitoring activities, and contributing to RMF documentation. You will also coordinate with system owners and engineers to track vulnerabilities and support remediation efforts.

About You

Required:

DoD 8140-M Basic level qualification or higher, with CompTIA Security + CE certification.
2-3 years of experience in Information Assurance / Cybersecurity within DoD environments.

Preferred:

Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and security controls aligned with CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-53, and JSIG.
Familiarity with conducting vulnerability assessments using ACAS, DISA STIGs, and SCAP Compliance Checker.
