KBR Careers is seeking a Junior Network Sustaining Engineer to join their team in Accomack County, VA. The role involves supporting engineering and sustaining engineering projects at NASA Wallops.
About the Role
As a Junior Network Sustaining Engineer, you will work closely with the Network Asset Planner and Network Sustaining Engineering Lead on day-to-day tasks related to engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include providing assessment artifacts, enhancing security and configuration management, developing network topology and diagrams, monitoring network performance, securing network systems, and supporting network-related projects.
About You
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience, or 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Proven ability to research and problem-solve independently and within a team.
Strong interpersonal skills to work directly with clients and stakeholders.
Must possess or actively pursue CISCO CCNA certification within 12 months of hire.
Preferred:
Experience with network device configuration and installation (switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS).
Familiarity with security tools and procedures outlined in system security plans.
