About the Role
As a Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor 1, you will assist counselors in supervising a caseload of youth, ensuring compliance with treatment plans, and preparing youth and their families for re-entry into the community. Your responsibilities will include assessing behavior, monitoring treatment participation, co-facilitating therapy groups, conducting security checks, and organizing recreational activities.
About You
Required:
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.
- Two years of college education from an accredited institution, AND two years of experience as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Security Officer.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred:
- Experience with treatment and intervention principles and practices.
- Ability to relate to clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics related to juvenile delinquency.
- Understanding of adolescent development and rehabilitation practices.
- Experience providing cognitive/behavior therapeutic interventions.
