Connecticut Department of Administrative Services is seeking Resource Assistants for the Kellogg Environmental Center & Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby, CT. The role involves providing guided tours, leading educational programs, and performing various clerical and maintenance tasks.

About the Role

As a Resource Assistant, you will work up to 40 hours per week, primarily from Tuesday to Saturday, with occasional evenings and at least one weekend day required. Your responsibilities will include providing guided tours of the Homestead and historical gardens, leading environmental education and historical interpretive programs, performing light gardening and cleaning, offering customer service, and handling clerical tasks such as creating flyers and managing social media posts.

About You

Required:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

Experience in environmental education, natural resources conservation, and/or local/US history.
Experience in teaching.
Experience working in customer service.
Experience working with diverse audiences.
Experience working independently.
Experience working outdoors.
Experience communicating effectively in a professional setting.
