Summary
Astera Labs is seeking a Lab Technician II to join their team in San Jose, CA. The role involves supporting various teams in the lab to develop world-class connectivity products.
About the Role
As a Lab Technician II, you will manage inventories of products and tools, assemble and test modules, maintain lab organization, and assist engineers with hands-on tasks such as soldering and rework of PCBAs. You will work closely with hardware engineering, validation, product applications, and quality assurance teams in a fast-paced environment.
About You
Required:
- 2 or more years of experience in a hardware lab.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certification in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar field, or an additional 2+ years of experience.
- 2+ years of inventory management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective and clear communication, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40lbs safely.
Preferred:
- 4 years of experience in a hardware lab.
- Comfortable performing solder rework on 0201 components, micro-coax cables, and fly line/magnet wire.
- Fluent in interpreting circuit schematics and board layouts.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug PCBAs using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting rack-mounted servers.
- Familiarity with Python, Bash, Linux, and Raspberry Pi.
