About the Role
As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the Special Chemistry department, ensuring that laboratory tests are performed accurately and results are reported timely. You will supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel, monitor workflow, ensure proper staffing, and engage in continuous process improvements. Additionally, you will maintain quality assurance records, evaluate new processes, and perform administrative duties as needed.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a non-traditional Bachelor's degree that meets local regulatory requirements.
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a Technologist.
- Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations.
- Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Previous supervisor/leadership experience.
- ASCP or AMT certification.
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures.
- Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment.
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
