Jacobs is seeking a Seasonal Land Surveyor Technician to support their Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) client. The role focuses on field data collection and inventory of stormwater assets located throughout highway rights-of-way across the region.
About the Role
As a Seasonal Land Surveyor Technician, you will perform field survey and asset inventory duties using instruments such as GNSS receivers and total stations. Your responsibilities will include collecting data for stormwater structures, applying industry-standard surveying practices, assisting with traffic control setups, maintaining field notes, and supporting asset inventory databases and GIS workflows. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and value safety.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation projects or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Valid Driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read and interpret roadway, structure, and bridge plans and specifications.
Preferred:
- A valid Traffic Control Flagger certificate.
- Experience in design, construction, traffic, materials, program management, or other transportation-related work.
- Experience with Bentley software products MicroStation (CADD), InRoads or OpenRoads (Geometric design).
- Experience with Pix4d, Virtual Surveyor, Leica; Viva, Captivate, Infinity and LGO.
- Experience in the Private or Public Survey field as a Lead, Tech, or intern.
