The Hartford is seeking a Lead AI Data Engineer to join their Enterprise Data Services Department in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on integrating and transforming data into high-quality products for actionable insights using AI and Cloud technologies.
About the Role
As a Lead AI Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data. You will mentor junior team members, collaborate with architects and stakeholders, and ensure data integrity and compliance. Your responsibilities include ingesting large-scale datasets, curating Data Products for analytics, and implementing best practices for data governance and security.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience in data analysis, transformation, and development, with ideally 2+ years in the insurance or a related industry.
3+ years of experience developing and deploying large-scale data and analytics applications on cloud platforms such as AWS and Snowflake.
Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL tools such as Informatica IDMC for data integration and transformation.
Experience designing and optimizing data models for Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Fabric.
3+ years of hands-on experience in processing large-scale structured and unstructured data in both batch and near-real-time environments.
3+ years of experience in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
2+ years of experience in leveraging DevOps pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
Preferred:
Certifications in AWS Data & Analytics Services, Snowflake, and Informatica IDMC.
Experience in building and integrating AI agents into data workflows.
Strong knowledge of data governance, including metadata management and lineage tracking.
