About the Role
As a Lead Geomatics Specialist Technician, you will lead and mentor field crews, support CAD/GIS deliverables, and coordinate with project managers. Your responsibilities will include performing survey field work, integrating field data into AutoCAD and GIS platforms, producing high-quality CAD drawings, and managing survey equipment. You will also ensure compliance with company standards and contribute to a culture of safety and technical excellence.
About You
Required:
- High School diploma or GED required; higher education in land surveying or related field preferred.
- 11+ years of experience in land surveying and geospatial services.
- Complete knowledge of survey equipment, practices, and procedures.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead multiple teams.
- Willingness to mentor and teach junior staff.
- Physical ability to perform field duties, including carrying equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related discipline.
- OSHA 40 and other safety training certifications.
- PLS, LSIT, CST, or FAA Part 107 certifications.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, and Lecia Infinity.
- Experience in various types of survey work including boundary and topographic surveys, utility surveys, and 3D laser scanning.
