Summary
The Learning Experience is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to join their team in Astoria, NY. The role involves creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for young children, focusing on their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
About the Role
As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and executing developmentally appropriate activities, managing daily classroom operations, observing and assessing child development, building strong relationships with families, collaborating with co-teachers, and ensuring health and safety compliance in the classroom.
About You
Required:
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or completion of Child Development Associate (CDA) Training Course plus 2+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- Verifiable experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning principles.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred:
- Passion for early childhood education and child development.
- Warm, nurturing personality with genuine love for children.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Creative and adaptable approach to teaching and problem-solving.
- Team player with a positive, collaborative attitude.
