Town of Barnstable is seeking a Lead Project Engineer, DPW to join their team in Hyannis, MA. The role involves planning, developing, designing, budgeting, managing, inspecting, and executing various projects within the Department of Public Works (DPW).
About the Role
As a Lead Project Engineer, you will oversee and mentor junior engineering staff, ensure technical Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of DPW designs, and be responsible for designing and developing engineering drawings and specifications. You will work on projects related to water, sewer, roads, recreational areas, buildings, marine infrastructure, and solid waste management.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Ten (10) years of experience in engineering design and construction.
- Class D driver's license.
- Massachusetts Professional Engineer certificate.
Preferred:
- Thorough knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with AutoCAD and 3D AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of state and local regulations for DPW infrastructure.
- Ability to design/prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents for large-scale projects.
