Summary
AtkinsRéalise is seeking a Lead Protection & Control Engineer to join their team in Binghamton, NY or Rochester, NY. The role involves developing efficient and reliable electrical design packages for medium and high voltage substations.
About the Role
As a Lead Protection & Control Engineer, you will work within a multi-discipline team to coordinate design activities, assist in site visits, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. You will design electrical substation facilities, prepare specifications, deliver accurate designs, review compliance, provide construction support, and mentor developing engineers.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in P&C electrical design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration (or eligible for registration).
- Experience with IEC61850/Goose Messaging.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards including NEC, NESC, and IEEE.
Preferred:
- Prior utility or utility consulting experience.
- Strong client focus.
- High level of interpersonal communication skills.
