Summary
SAIC is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to join their team in Alexandria, VA. The role involves overseeing the development team, managing technical initiatives, and leading the integration of advanced technologies into DRRS USMC.
About the Role
As a Lead Software Development Engineer, you will lead and mentor a multidisciplinary development team, oversee task management, and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets. You will write clean and efficient Java code, conduct code reviews, debug and maintain existing codebases, and develop technical proofs of concept. Additionally, you will identify and evaluate new technologies for integration into existing frameworks and collaborate with program leadership to align enhancements with project requirements.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience, Master's degree with 12+ years, or PhD/JD with 9+ years of experience.
- Track record of leading development teams and managing complex technical projects.
- Proficiency in writing scripts for automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Practical experience with legacy Java, JSP, native JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MSSQL.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and secure coding practices.
Preferred:
- Experience with client-side JavaScript libraries (e.g., JQuery, AngularJS, Bootstrap).
- Proven experience in object-oriented design and building, testing, and deploying applications.
