Summary
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer for the Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) program in Virginia Beach, VA. This role focuses on delivering advanced defense systems to the L-Class ships of the US Navy.
About the Role
As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will support the SSDS program by collaborating with cross-functional teams and government partners to enhance integrated shipboard training. Your responsibilities will include participating in meetings to discuss training system requirements, establishing a Training System of Excellence, supporting system architecture and documentation, evaluating system trouble reports, and interfacing with government customers.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD/Juris Doctorate in a related field (no additional experience required), or High school diploma/Equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in full lifecycle systems engineering, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, testing, validation, and deployment of defense or aerospace systems.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with current or active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
Preferred:
- DoD security clearance.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with Naval Surface Combat Systems, including Ship Self Defense and/or Aegis Systems.
- Experience with Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) or Advanced Training Domain (ATD).
- Knowledge of SSDS Program Management Office processes and interfacing IWS Systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
