Summary
BlueHalo, an AV company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Systems Engineer to join their Kinetic Effectors Group in Huntsville, AL. The role involves managing system architecture and requirements for the Next Generation Counter Uncrewed Aerial System Missile in support of national defense objectives.
About the Role
As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will define system-level requirements, support the development of concepts of operations, collaborate with domain experts, conduct architecture trade studies, derive system requirements, develop digital models, oversee system verification and validation, and ensure compliance with military standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and government customers to deliver innovative solutions in a mission-critical environment.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience in complex system development.
- Deep understanding of system-of-systems design and missile subsystem interdependencies.
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), preferably using SysML.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and interface with senior stakeholders.
- Experience architecting complex weapon systems for the U.S. Department of Defense.
- Familiarity with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Digital Engineering strategies.
- Experience with DoD acquisition processes and military standards.
- Prior work with air-to-air, air-to-ground, or surface-to-air missile systems.
- Experience working with US Army acquisition organizations.
