Friends of Firefighters is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join their team in Brooklyn, NY. The role involves providing inclusive counseling services tailored to the unique needs of the first responder community.
About the Role
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for delivering mental health counseling services to active and retired first responders and their families. Your duties will include assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapy for individuals, couples, and groups. You will maintain accurate client records, collaborate with other professionals for comprehensive care, provide crisis intervention, and adhere to ethical standards of practice.
About You
Required:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Current licensure as a mental health counselor or social worker in the state of New York.
Strong clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapy.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Trauma care or other related experience.
Ability to work flexible hours based upon client needs.
Ability to facilitate remote counseling sessions.
Benefits
$37-45 per hour, dependent upon experience.
