About You
- Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Psych Tech (LPT) license.
- Current BLS for healthcare provider card required upon hire.
- High School graduation or equivalent in education or experience.
- Basic knowledge of detoxification assessment and treatment procedures.
- Familiarity with the disease concept of addiction treatment.
- Knowledge of 12-step treatment and cognitive aspects of addictive disease treatment.
- Ability to identify signs of withdrawal from major classes of abused substances.
- Therapeutic Options Training (TOT) to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor.

Aurora Charter Oak Behavioral Health Care is located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. We have been providing mental health and substance abuse treatment services at this same location since 1941. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley. The San Gabriel Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to our campus, which includes Aurora Charter Oak Hospital and the Charter Oak Recovery Center. Our campus includes three separate buildings featuring eight separate units for adolescents and adults requiring inpatient care, a Residential Treatment Center (RTC), an Outpatient Services building, and an Assessment Center which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our campus also includes a pool and a gymnasium.
