State of Colorado is seeking a Limited Commissioned Ranger / Lead Inspector to join their team at the Cortez Port of Entry. The role involves enforcing Colorado Parks and Wildlife laws and regulations while providing customer service and public outreach.
About the Role
As a Limited Commissioned Ranger, you will perform boat inspection and decontamination responsibilities, lead inspection staff, ensure compliance with protocols, and provide public education on aquatic invasive species. You will also handle visitor complaints, complete reports, and may be required to appear in court. The position requires early morning, evening, and weekend work.
About You
Required:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a current & valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
- Must be available to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have or be able to attain valid current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Basic computer skills required (MS Office Suite, Google App Suite).
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Preference may be given to applicants with or working towards a Natural Resources degree or similar education.
