About the Role
As a Machining ME, Gear at John Deere Waterloo Works, you will recommend and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas. You will assist in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity, and efficiency, establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans, and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts. Additionally, you will provide support and troubleshooting to resolve production process, machine, and quality issues for current operations.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technology field or equivalent related work experience.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to interact with all levels in the organization and supplier personnel.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to proficiently use algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to initiate and complete multiple, concurrent projects.
Preferred:
- Experience in roles that required a working knowledge of turning, milling, drilling, and hard finishing of ferrous materials.
- Experience applying gear and shaft manufacturing tools and technology.
- Experience with interpreting part prints and GD&T designations.
- Experience with the use of AutoCAD, Creo, or related software.
- Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or other data analysis tools.
