Abbott is seeking a Maintenance Technician II (2nd Shift) to join their team at the Sturgis, MI Plant. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and servicing manufacturing and facility systems.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will perform skilled maintenance and repair services of manufacturing and facility systems, interpret blueprints and schematics, implement maintenance methods, conduct periodic inspections, and adhere to sanitation and GMP requirements. You will also be responsible for meeting compliance standards including FDA and OSHA regulations.

About You

Required:

High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of previous experience with machine repair in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of mechanical systems and mechanical/spatial aptitude
Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation
Knowledge of fluid and hydraulic systems
Knowledge of proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease
Demonstrated seamer proficiency
Attention to detail

Preferred:

Technical Diploma
Predictive Maintenance experience/training
Backflow Prevention certified by Michigan Mechanics and Plumbers and Construction Association
Seamer certified via formal Angelus or Pneumatic Scale Seamer School
