ICF is seeking a Manager, Energy Markets (Power) to join their team remotely. The role involves providing strategic leadership and vision for power markets advisory consulting, overseeing project delivery, mentoring team members, and driving business development.
About the Role
As a Manager in the Power Markets team, you will shape and communicate the strategic vision for the advisory team, lead projects involving market analysis and production cost modeling, manage relationships with stakeholders, monitor market structures, champion advanced analytics, mentor a diverse team, manage multiple projects, and drive business development.
About You
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
7+ years of experience in the North American electric power sector, including market analysis and forecasting.
Consulting experience focused on project planning, transmission planning, power flow analysis, data analytics, strategic analysis, or GIS modeling.
Experience leveraging production cost modeling tools (e.g., PROMOD, Plexos, or other Production Cost Models).
Experience with SCED, congestion and curtailment analysis, nodal price analysis, and transmission congestion studies.
Experience managing a team of technical analysts.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
10 - 12+ years of experience in the North American electric power sector, including market analysis and forecasting.
Advanced proficiency with power flow assessment tools (e.g., PowerGEM TARA, GE-PSLF, PSS-E, PowerWorld).
Knowledge of major US market areas (ERCOT, PJM, ISONE, NYISO, MISO, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC).
Experience with financial analysis, asset valuation, or power plant development.
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, asset valuation, and risk management.
Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Demonstrated adaptability and strategic thinking in dynamic market environments.
