Summary
Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to join their team in Fulton, MD. The role involves driving the design, architecture, and development of software systems and products in an Agile environment.
About the Role
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers, coordinate activities across multiple programs, and ensure successful technical execution and delivery of solutions. You will also identify new technologies to enhance productivity and support strategic product development, while empowering your team through training and constructive feedback.
About You
Required:
- At least 8 years of experience with C++ and/or Java.
- Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years of experience.
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with GraphQL, REST, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Angular, Typescript, HTML/CSS.
- Experience with Container Orchestration implementation such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience managing cyber security processes including vulnerability assessments.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.
- Background in hiring and building a collaborative team culture.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.
