Summary
Guidehouse is seeking a Managing Consultant-Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Technical Services to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves leading, developing, proposing, and delivering solutions related to the Transmission and Distribution energy grids.
About the Role
As a Managing Consultant-T&D Technical Services, you will lead and perform data analysis, technical engineering reviews, and power systems modeling. You will be responsible for developing power systems analysis, conducting feasibility studies, and mentoring junior consultants. The role requires effective communication of solutions to clients and stakeholders, as well as the ability to manage complex projects independently.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or power systems engineering and 5+ years of experience in the Utilities industry, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 1+ year of experience.
- Technical understanding of power systems engineering tools such as PSLF, POWERWORLD Simulator, PSSE, ASPEN, TARA, CAPE, DSATools, PSCAD or EMPT.
- In-depth knowledge of transmission and distribution systems from a planning and operations standpoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Post-graduation experience using power systems engineering tools.
- Consulting experience within the utilities industry.
- Knowledge of ISO/RTO operations, especially in western markets and CAISO.
- Ability to code in languages such as R, Python, VA, SQL.
