Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Onsite) in Wilson, NC to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on test and electromechanical systems design, integration, and maintenance.
About the Role
The role involves coaching and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians, overseeing design, prototyping, testing, and deployment of test and electromechanical systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and improve equipment uptime, establishing standardized engineering processes and best practices, supporting smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives, managing capital projects related to test solutions and automation, defining and monitoring KPIs, driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensuring team alignment with business goals and customer requirements.
About You
Required:
University degree with minimum 8 years relevant experience or advanced degree with minimum 5 years experience
Leadership experience
Preferred:
Hands-on experience with automated test equipment (ATE) design and integration and software tools such as LabVIEW or Python
Working knowledge of automation technologies, sensors, PLCs, and control systems
Experience in aerospace or defense industry
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), control systems design, and engineering documentation tools
Proven success managing complex technical projects and cross-functional teams
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
