Summary
ABB is seeking a Marine Field Service Engineer (Automation) to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves planning and executing complex technical field assignments related to the installation, modification, testing, inspection, or repair of company products and equipment.
About the Role
As a Marine Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for traveling to customer premises globally, primarily onboard vessels, to install, modify, test, repair, or inspect automation systems and programming. You will troubleshoot communication networks, interpret technical drawings, and provide remote on-call support for customer technical problems. This position requires independent work and coordination with other groups to meet customer commitments.
About You
Required:
- Three or more years of experience in marine power generation and power distribution with a focus on automation and control systems.
- Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another electrical technical field.
- Experience in marine integrated automation systems.
- Preferred experience with ABB marine equipment.
- Ship electrician or experience from shipyards, understanding and interest in marine installations.
