About the Role
As a Senior Marine Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating the operation of marine vessels and related equipment, including auxiliary systems, hydraulics, and piping. You will lead verification and validation efforts, mentor junior engineers, and develop system documentation and specifications. The position requires onsite work at the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center and may involve up to 10% travel for ship checks.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
- At least six years of progressive experience in design, optimization, and integration of marine auxiliary and piping systems.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience leading auxiliary system work efforts for Government or commercial shipbuilding programs.
- Experience providing mentorship to junior engineers.
