About the Role
As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating indoor cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move materials within the facility. Your daily tasks will include loading and unloading trucks, assisting in inventory management, conducting equipment inspections, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace while following all safety protocols.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of experience operating indoor cranes or similar material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of operating various types of indoor cranes, including bridge cranes, jib cranes, or gantry cranes.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hoists.
- Understanding proper load securement techniques to prevent material shifts or accidents.
- Ability to perform basic inspections and routine maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse practices, including receiving, storing, and tracking materials and supplies.
- Basic math skills for calculating weights, inventory counts, and tracking materials accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret load charts, safety guidelines, operational manuals, and work orders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication to coordinate with team members and report issues or needs.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues or workflow challenges independently and proactively.
