About the Role
As a Materials & Processes Sr Engineer, you will serve as the subject matter expert for oxygen compatibility assessments for liquid oxygen lines and flammability testing of materials used in human-rated spacecraft. Your responsibilities will include performing assessments of ignition risk, applying industry standards, developing test plans, and collaborating with multi-functional teams to ensure the safety and reliability of materials in oxygen environments.
About You
Required:
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical or related field.
- 10+ years of demonstrated M&P or Engineering experience on a production flight or space program.
- Direct signatory experience for OCAs and associated NASA training and certifications.
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace-grade materials characterization and NDI techniques.
- Knowledge of industry standards for material data analysis.
- Ability to travel to support development and testing opportunities.
Preferred:
- 15+ years of experience in oxygen environments for space.
- MS/Ph.D. in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical or related field.
