Summary
GE Aerospace is seeking a Materials Handler (Weekend shift) to join their team in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves handling materials and components in a manufacturing environment during weekend shifts.
About the Role
As a Materials Handler, you will be responsible for shipping components and finished products, performing material handling tasks, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, validating cycle counts, and providing training to other employees. You will work in a climate-controlled environment and engage in various logistics and safety procedures while supporting LEAN initiatives.
About You
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of warehouse and/or manufacturing shop material management experience.
- 1+ year of data entry and retrieval into a material management or formal ERP system.
- Basic computer skills.
- Previous fork truck driving experience or ability to be trained and licensed.
Preferred:
- Experience working in stockroom, shipping, or receiving functions.
- Fork-Lift Driver License and experience.
- Truck loading experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a self-directed teaming environment.
- Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement knowledge.
- Valid driver's license.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
