About the Role
As a Senior Materials Scientist, you will serve as a strategic technical consultant to DARPA program managers, advising on program direction and technology selection. You will apply your expertise in battery research, including materials, chemical interactions, design, and material lifetime challenges, to support government-funded R&D programs. Your responsibilities will include providing strategic assessments of emerging technologies, assisting in producing and presenting findings to Agency leadership, and managing current research programs.
About You
Required:
- Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry and 3+ years of experience in battery chemistry and materials research, or Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry and 5+ years of experience in battery chemistry and materials research.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools for materials research.
- Ability to develop technical documents and presentations.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Preferred:
- Experience with Department of Defense research and development programs.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with minimal oversight.
- Ability to pay strict attention to detail.
- Possession of excellent organization and client service skills.
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and editing.
- TS/SCI clearance.
