Ohlone College is seeking a Mathematics Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) to join their team in Fremont, CA. The role involves teaching mathematics courses in accordance with established course outlines and fostering an engaging learning environment.
About the Role
As a Mathematics Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching mathematics at the post-secondary level, evaluating student work, maintaining accurate records, and creating an inclusive classroom environment. You may be assigned to teach in-person, online, or hybrid courses during various times including day, evening, and weekends.
About You
Required:
- Master's in mathematics or applied mathematics; OR Bachelor's in either of the above AND Master's in statistics, physics, or mathematics education; OR the equivalent.
- Commitment to community college goals/objectives of being an equity-based and anti-racist institution.
Preferred:
- Teaching experience at the community college level.
- Experience in using innovative teaching methods that encourage student engagement and learning.
- Experience creating socially conscious syllabi and equitable classroom materials.
- Experience in addressing issues of equity and working with diverse student populations.
- Experience with course management systems (i.e. Blackboard, Canvas).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
