Battelle is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join their team in Columbus, OH. The role involves designing and developing medical products and systems, contributing to all phases of product design.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Designer, you will be a core team member responsible for developing mechanical products, subsystems, and components. You will participate in shaping product design through brainstorming and concept generation, define functional needs and system requirements, and apply creative solutions to technical design problems. Collaboration with technicians for hands-on assembly and testing, as well as generating documentation following QS/ISO processes, will be key responsibilities.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field; three years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in conceptualizing design requirements and transforming them into feasible designs.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD.
- Familiarity with manufacturing techniques such as plastic part design and machined parts.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with PDM or PTC Windchill vaults.
- Experience with plastic injection molding and plastic part design.
- Hands-on general lab skills for building and testing prototypes.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
