Summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Drafter 3 for their Energy & Industrial team in Chicago, IL. The role involves developing mechanical physical layout drawings and solving mechanical design issues.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Drafter 3, you will work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams to create 3D models and mechanical design schematics. Your responsibilities will include designing mechanical systems, troubleshooting design issues, coordinating detailed design phases, and mentoring less experienced drafters. You will also have the opportunity to assist senior designers in field data gathering.
About You
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in drafting.
- An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
- Knowledge of detailed physical design in mechanical general arrangements and piping systems.
- Proficiency with design software tools for 3D plant layout models.
- Experience in reviewing mechanical equipment and coordinating deliverables.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related degree.
- Proficiency with MicroStation.
