Summary
AERMOR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV to join their team in Norfolk, VA. The role involves leading the full lifecycle of mechanical hardware product development, from initial concept and design through rollout, testing, and sustainment.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer IV, you will be responsible for managing the design, development, and production of mechanical systems and hardware products. Your tasks will include translating system requirements into mechanical design concepts, overseeing engineering processes, performing mechanical analysis, managing project schedules and budgets, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. You will also provide leadership to junior engineers and prepare technical presentations for stakeholders.
About You
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 10 years of professional experience, or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 14 years of professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing the creation of mechanical hardware products from concept through rollout and lifecycle maintenance.
- Strong background in mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or projects, including task management and resource coordination.
- Experience preparing and delivering technical briefings and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
Preferred:
- Understanding of cost analysis, schedule planning, and risk management in mechanical engineering projects.
