About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer at nLIGHT DEFENSE Systems, Inc., you will synchronize all mechanical, thermal, and packaging aspects of design and integration for complex HEL weapon systems. Your responsibilities will include the development of cutting-edge laser and electro-optical systems, applying design principles to create manufacturing-friendly solutions, and managing the design process from concept through integration.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Optical Engineering, or related technical field.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience working in mechanical system design and integration.
- Experience using GitLab, Jira, or similar project management software.
- Experience in SolidWorks.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in rugged design for optical systems.
- Familiarity with implementation of electro-optical systems.
- Experience in thermal management systems.
- Experience in finite element analysis (FEA) and modeling of vibration and thermal effects.
- Experience with MATLAB & LabVIEW.
