Swarm Aero is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Oxnard, CA. The role involves designing, constructing, integrating, and testing components and systems for long-range UAV aircraft.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer at Swarm Aero, you will create detailed engineering models, develop part libraries, collaborate with manufacturing teams, conduct design reviews, manage design data, develop build guidelines, analyze performance, troubleshoot design issues, and oversee the testing of designed systems in real-world conditions.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, with emphasis on detailed component design.
- Proficiency with CAD software, preferably NX.
- Experience with PLM systems, such as Teamcenter.
- Demonstrated ability to create complex 3D models and detailed 2D drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles and drafting standards.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on design.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or UAV industry.
- Familiarity with composite materials and design considerations.
- Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication techniques.
- Experience with design for additive manufacturing.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical integration requirements.
- Previous work on products through full design lifecycle from concept to production.
