Summary

GMB is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their project teams in Rockford, IL. The role involves supporting the technical aspects of mechanical project design including code compliance, specifications, system integration, and constructability.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer at GMB, you will participate in project team meetings, build collaborative relationships with various disciplines, prepare building models and detailed construction documents, develop expertise in complex mechanical systems, and maintain positive client relationships. You will also communicate regularly with project managers and team members to manage project design changes and ensure timely completion of work.

About You

Required:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
5+ years relevant experience in mechanical system design.
Experience coordinating work with multidisciplinary project teams.
Demonstrated understanding of construction drawings, specifications, mechanical standards, regulations, and building codes.
Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred:

Pursuing licensure or licensed professional engineer (PE).
Skill in the use of Autodesk Revit to produce mechanical design documents.
Comfort with professional communication with internal and external customers.
Demonstrated passion for mechanical engineering and architectural engineering consulting.
Excellent communication skills.
