Summary
SLB is seeking a Mechanical Piping Designer to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves preparing detailed electrical drawings and equipment Bills of Materials (BOM) in accordance with customer specifications.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Piping Designer, you will independently support Engineers and the Engineering Manager by creating and verifying drawings and BOMs, preparing bulk Material Take-Offs (MTOs), ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and developing layout drawings. You will also produce various electrical deliverables, assist in troubleshooting, supervise outsourced design work, and contribute to process improvements.
About You
Required:
- Technical certification or diploma in a relevant design discipline (e.g., electrical design, drafting, or engineering technology).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on electrical scopes within Hyperscale Data Center Modules or a similar industrial environment.
- Proven ability to produce clear and accurate drawings and sketches to communicate design concepts.
- Solid understanding of the purpose and function of electrical systems in facility environments.
- Extensive experience utilizing design and modeling tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Revit.
Preferred:
- Experience in high-density data centers and hyperscale infrastructure.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations including IEC, IBC, OSHA, NEC, and NFPA.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building and sustaining client relationships.
