About the Role
As a Medical Assistance Specialist 1, you will work within the Bureau of Community Enrollment and Eligibility Processing. Your responsibilities will include providing technical assistance to various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with immigration and Medicaid regulations, assisting with program transitions, and managing eligibility determinations. You will also review and interpret legislation and policy statements related to Medicaid and public health insurance programs.
About You
Required:
- Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Medical Assistance Specialist 1, G-18.
- Six years of experience in developing and analyzing health-related policy and determining financial eligibility for healthcare programs.
Preferred:
- Strong analytical skills and good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience with public health insurance programs like Medicare and Medicaid.
