About the Role
As a Medical Assistant/LPN, you will provide exceptional medical care that meets each patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs. You will assist physicians, mid-level practitioners, and nurses while adhering to prescribed treatment plans. The position requires working under general supervision, managing various shifts, and may involve over 40 hours per week, including callbacks and remaining on campus during severe weather or disasters.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited medical assisting program or graduation from a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
- Certification/registration by the day of hire with one of the following: AAMA Certified, AMT Registered, NCMA National Certified Medical Assistant, NHA, NAHP-NRCMA, or AMCA certification.
- BLS through American Heart Association required within 30 days of employment.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical law, medical ethics, human relations, and patient education.
- Basic computer skills and ability to perform EKGs and obtain accurate blood pressure readings.
Preferred:
- Graduate of Practical Nursing program.
- Current License as a LPN in the State of Florida.
- Knowledge of patient care charts and histories, clinical and surgical operations, and patient evaluation and triage procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
