Apicha Community Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team in New York, NY. The role involves providing direct patient care and supporting nursing staff and medical providers in addressing healthcare needs.
About the Role
As a Medical Assistant, you will work as part of the Care Team to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, assisting in clinical care, performing vital sign collection, conducting point of care testing, gathering medical information, and maintaining clinic equipment and supplies. You will also participate in quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with infection control policies.
About You
Required:
High School diploma or GED required.
Completion of accredited Medical Assistant Program.
Possession of a current basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS CPR) certificate.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a multi-cultural setting required.
Preferred:
One (1) year full time work experience preferred.
Experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS preferred.
Ability to speak Spanish or Asian is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of eClinicalWorks EMR is preferred.
