About the Role
As a Medical Coder, you will assist medical examiners with the classification of autopsy reports, provide auditing and adjudication support, and retrieve death data for decedents under AFMES jurisdiction. You will also develop standard operating procedures for coding and quality control, provide coding expertise using ICD-10, and maintain a data dictionary for coding variables and terms.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) plus 5 years of medical mortality AIS coding.
- US citizenship and ability to pass a NAC-I Security Background Investigation.
Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience in filing techniques and administrative typing.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and data entry.
