About the Role
As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding systems, reviewing and correcting claims, gathering data from healthcare providers, verifying code accuracy, evaluating medical records, and handling coding denials. You will work in a professional medical clinic environment and may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Current Certified Coding Specialist or Certified Professional Coder certification
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, Medical Terminology, and medically approved abbreviations
- Thorough understanding of CMS coding and billing guidelines
- Attention to detail and ability to achieve a high level of accuracy
