About the Role
As a Medical Records & Patient Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and safeguarding patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, processing medical record requests, and serving as a primary point of contact for patients regarding their medical records. You will also assist patients with appointment coordination and identify opportunities to improve patient satisfaction and engagement processes.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree in health information management or related field preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or patient services.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience in a clinical, hospital, or outpatient healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with patient portals and digital engagement tools.
- Certification such as RHIT or equivalent (a plus, not required).
